ROMNEY, W.VA., April 17 — The countdown is on for the inaugural Campus (1870) Classic 4K and 1K run/walk set for Sunday, April 22, at the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind in Romney. Click here for the main event page and course map.

Entry for this low-cost event is only $3 for members of the WVSDB community and $5 for the general public. Race-day registration begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the track behind the school. The event will feature a combined start for the 4K and 1K at 2 p.m. in front of the school’s administration building along U.S. Route 50.

From there, runners will head west on the sidewalk parallel to Route 50, turn right onto North Antigo Place and turn right into the school’s lower parking lot. Both 4K and 1K participants will head towards the school’s track. At that point, the 4K and 1K folks part ways.

The 1K runners and walkers will head down the small hill to the track and sprint to the finish line. The 4K participants, meanwhile, will continue along Campus Drive behind the maintenance shed and enter SavillaVille by way of Sixth Street.

4Kers will complete two loops of SavillaVille before turning right off Central Avenue onto Sixth Street and return to the WVSDB campus.

4Kers then turn right at the maintenance shed and hit the track and run three-quarters of the way around before crossing the finish line.
