ROMNEY, W.Va., April 21, 2013 — Join the students and staff at West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind for the second annual Campus(1870)Classic 1K and 4K run/walk on Sunday, April 21 in downtown Romney.

1K is approximately 0.62 miles while the 4K distance equates to slightly less than 2.5 miles.

Entry fee is $3 for the campus community (students and employees) and only $5 for the general public. Both the 1K and 4K courses are paved and wind through downtown Romney and the WVSDB campus.

There will be a combined start of the 1K and 4K participations at 2 p.m. Packet pick-up and race-day registration begins at 1 p.m. on the track behind the school.

Proceeds will benefit the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind Foundation. The name of the event intends to invoke an awareness of the schools’ rich history.

Tandem running for those requiring assistance is offered. Partner runners, or “ghost” runners, enter free of charge but do not count in age division awards.
