EMPORIUM, Pa. — Registration is now open for the Potomac Highlands Distance Club’s newest race, the Sinnemahone Ultra Marathon (presented by PIOGA), conducted mostly on Pennsylvania Department of Conservation’s Elk State Forest Lands. The event offers a 50K, 25K and 2-person relay (25K each) in the inaugural year.
Entry is $60 for 50K runners, $80 for each two-person relay team and $40 for 25K runners. Medallions will be handed to all individual 50K finishers. Trophies will be awarded(for 50K individual event, male and female divisions, one deep) in the following age groups: Under-30, 30-39, 40-49 and 50-plus for both male and female competitors.
Individuals under the age of 18, a signature of legal guardian is required as well as the permission of the race director.
Furthest Runner Award
A cash prize will be presented to the entry coming from the farther location to the race. This award will be equal to their registration cost and will be presented at the awards ceremony following the race. The winner will be determined from their registration address to Emporium. The actual mileage will be determined by the race organizing committee using Google Mapping.
