Warriors 5K Race for the Cure

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. — Join the APUS Volunteer Warriors from Charles Town for the inaugural Warriors 5K Race for the Cure, a cross country run/walk at Sam Michael’s Park in Jefferson County.

The team, comprised of the friendly people from American Public University System, so far has raised $8,798.58 (through April 18). The team goal for 2013 is $20,000. The Jefferson County Relay for Life is scheduled for later in June at Charles Town Middle School.

Entry is $25 per person for the 5K, and a cap of $40 for a family of four immediate family members. The fun run 1-miler is $5 per person, and, yes, people can register for both.

June 1 timeline
7 a.m.: Packet pick-up and race-day registration begins
8 a.m.: 5K race start
9:15 a.m.: Awards ceremony (approximate)
9:30 a.m.: 1-mile fun run begins

Awards
Male and Female: Top Overall, top 40-and-over, top 50-and-over, top 60-and-over.

T-shirts
T-shirts from existing Relay for Life team stock will be used, thus preventing the cost of new T-shirts. That allows more of your dollars to go straight to the cause. T-shirts will be designated on a first-come, first-served process. Sizes are not guaranteed, however, and an entrant should list his/her first and second preferred size.
