COLLEGE PARK, March 5 - For two, it was their first time having their hand raised by the referee in triumph.
For two others, well, they'd been there before. But the feeling of winning still felt good.
Southern Garrett senior stars Bubba Scheffel and Lex Ozias each earned their third consecutive individual state title while freshman Coy Ozias got his first title with a pin at 103 pounds. Mountain Ridge junior Jason Wright, second last year, won on Saturday at Cole Field House by way of a 7-4 decision.

ELLICOTT CITY, Feb. 13 - Dan Carr was a bit nervous.
And he had every right to be. Carr, a 2007 Southern Garrett High School graduate and now a sophomore wrestler for the University of Maryland-Baltimore County’s club team, was up against Penn State’s Luke Fedechko at 149 pounds.

MOUNT SAVAGE, Feb. 20 -- A full 25 percent of the entire field at next weekend's Class 1A-2A West Region wrestling championship will be comprised of student-athletes from Maryland's two westernmost counties.
Southern Garrett, which won its fifth straight Bi-County Tournament on Saturday, automatically had all 10 of its finalists advance to the regional tournament Feb. 25 and Feb. 26 at North Hagerstown. The Rams also had one qualify based on points accumulated during the season.
Mountain Ridge also had 10 advance, including five from being finalists in the Bi-County Tournament and five more based on points. Northern Garrett moved eight wrestlers ahead, Fort Hill has five traveling to Hagerstown and Allegany's Andy Day, who was pinned in the Bi-County finals at 285 pounds, is the only Camper to qualify.
Each of the top four wrestlers in each weight class advance to the Class 1A-2A state tournament scheduled for March 4-5 in College Park.
Southern Garrett leads Garrett and Allegany counties with three No. 1 seeds: freshman Coy Ozias at 103 and seniors Lex Ozias (152) and
Jakob "Bubba" Scheffel
(171).
