Turnbull reaches 1,000 career points, tallies 24 on the night to lead Spartans past Panthers
* Teammate Abby Matthews matches her on points - at least for the night

For The Potomac Highlands Dispatch
HANCOCK, Feb. 23 -- Bishop Walsh senior Ashley Turnbull reached a career milestone by tallying 24 points in the Spartans' 74-63 road win on Wednesday at Hancock.

The total put her at 1,000 points over her four-year varsity career.

The victory snapped a nine-game losing streak for Bishop Walsh (5-23), which beat Hancock in Cumberland last month, 60-28. Wednesday night was quite different. The teams were tied 47-47 at the end of the third quarter.

Bishop Walsh had lost nine straight games heading into Wednesday's game and 12 of its last 13. But Turnbull has consistently been a bright spot for the Spartans, constantly giving opponents trouble by controlling play underneath the boards on both ends of the court.
