Carr hits school record in points, 3-pointers as Keyser beats Falcons for first time in eight years
* Falcons take 2-point lead early in fourth quarter but can't hang on

For The Potomac Highlands Dispatch
NEW CREEK, W.Va., Feb. 3 -- Lexi Carr set school records in both points (34) and 3-pointers in a game (six) to lead No. 5 Keyser past No. 3 Frankfort. It's the Golden Tornado's first win over the Falcons in eight years.

Through 16 games, Carr has averaged 12.4 points per game. Her previous season-best was 20 points against Northern Garrett on Dec. 17. Three days before that, Carr was held scoreless against the Falcons at Frankfort.

Carr added three assists, three rebounds and two steals on the night.

On Thursday, Carly Grady battled foul trouble throughout the game and scored nine points but was supported by Taneasha Harper's eight points and five rebounds for Keyser, which improved to 7-9 on the season.

Keyser coach Joshua Blowe called it "a great win for the program" but said he hoped the team didn't rest on its newly earned laurels.

"I hope we can build off of this win and not be satisfied because we still have bigger team goals we want to reach," Blowe told PhDispatch.com in an e-mail.

The Golden Tornado led almost the entire game until the Falcons took a two-point lead early in the fourth quarter.
