Lady Huskies “Get Your Pink Gloves On”
Get Your Pink Gloves On represents the importance of early detection, and breast cancer awareness. Money is being raised by donations for pairs of the pink gloves and donated to The Kay Yow Cancer Fund™. Put the gloves somewhere visible to act as a reminder to get your tests and screenings, early detection saves lives.
Throughout the year Northern has been well represented with their efforts toward breast cancer awareness, the volleyball team, cheerleaders, band, girl’s soccer team, SSA class, cafeteria staff and the girl’s basketball team have all participated in the “Get Your Pink Gloves On” campaign. These groups will be featured during our halftime video presentation. Thanks everyone for your support.
The “gas for life” door prize and pink gloves for tonight’s game were sponsored by Thompson Gas. We appreciate their support and the use of their pink truck for a unique photo opportunity. A special thanks to Brenda’s Body Shop for purchasing the varsity team’s uniforms and to the parents for the lettering.
Money was raised for our pink zone game with halftime foul shooting contests, selling tee shirts, donations for pink gloves, pink ball raffle and by purchasing pink uniforms. The total raised for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund™ will be announced at Northern vs Southern game Feb. 17.
WVU Women’s Basketball Team signed our pink ball for us to raffle off to one of our lucky fans.
