CUMBERLAND, Feb. 25 -- Host Fort Hill was limited to seven points in the second quarter of its first-round 1A West playoff game against Mountain Ridge.
Fortunately for the Sentinels, though, they'd already enjoyed a comfortable 16-point lead after the first eight minutes of play. Fort Hill cruised to a 61-43 victory on Friday in Cumberland. The Sentinels earned a third game against crosstown rival Allegany on Monday at Campobello.
Garrett D'Atri led three players in double figures with 19 points, including 11 in a 21-point third quarter. Mark Kelly added 12 points and Will Harris had 10 points in the win.
Daniel Strietbeck led the Miners with 13 points. Strietbeck was the only Mountain Ridge player to score in the first quarter.
The Miners failed to sink a single field goal in the final period but shot 13 of 17 from the free throw line in the last minutes of the game.
