Bittinger to spearhead second
TEA Party rally on downtown mall
April 18 event set to begin at noon

CUMBERLAND, Jan. 18 -- As members of the Allegany County Conservative TEA Party Caucus discussed the county police controversy, illegal immigration, gay marriage and un-incorporating the city of Cumberland, Lisa Bittinger said it's time to get the party started.
Or at least plan for it.
Bittinger, a Cumberland resident and group member, said Sunday during the conservative organization's monthly meeting that efforts are being made to plan a second TEA Party on the downtown Cumberland mall at the intersection of Baltimore and Mechanic streets.
Things went better than expected in 2009. Bittinger said some 600 people showed up - and that was without much planning, promotion or publicity at all. This time will be different, she said.
The group intends to contact Congressman Roscoe Bartlett to help find a suitable featured speaker for the afternoon.
