School system offers parents access to manage school messenger preferences
System Allows Individuals to Control the Ways they are Contacted
For The Potomac Highlands Dispatch
CUMBERLAND, Jan. 18 -- The Allegany County Public School System now utilizes School Messenger, a notification system that provides timely communication to parents and staff. In order to enhance the school system’s ability to accurately deliver this information, they are requesting that parents create their own contact preference profile using School Messenger’s Contact Manager website.
Contact Manager allows parents to control the ways in which they prefer to be contacted. It also works like a mailbox, giving individuals a place to review messages they may have missed.
Beginning today, the school system will mail letters to parents providing step by step instructions and the necessary information needed to create an account in the Contact Manager system.
For questions on setting up an account, parents should first visit the school system’s website at http://acps.allconet.org; if further assistance is needed, a School Messenger Contact Manager “Live Help Desk” service will be available by dialing (301) 759-2438 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. the week of February 7 through February 11, 2011.
