For The Potomac Highlands Dispatch
FROSTBURG, Jan. 30 -- The Frostburg Museum is proud to present an exhibition of new works by Suzanne Rafferty. Just in time for Valentines Day, her show “Love & Letters” begins Feb. 1 and continues through March 1.
The artist’s reception will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. On Feb. 12. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments with delectable desserts of chocolate & sweets, to eat in honor of Valentine's Day, will be served and everyone is invited to come to meet and talk with the artist.
Suzanne Rafferty has always had a love for the arts. About a year and a half ago, she picked up her camera hoping to capture some pictures of her daughter. She wanted to create something reminiscent of days gone by. Suzanne has always loved the Victorian Era and vintage style is her calling card. Suzanne is self-taught, having no previous photographic knowledge. However, the work she has created seems almost poetic, keepsakes of memories gone by. Take a walk back through time, this February, at the Frostburg Museum...where you can view first hand her display of "Love & Letters" in honor of all that Love Truly Is!
The jurors for this years show are Dr. Randall Rhodes, Assistant Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Frostburg State University and M.C. Pratt, artist and owner of Triskele Studios in Frostburg, MD.
